TYPE OF MITIGATION SYSTEM USED IN SOUTHWEST FLORIDA
The primary system used to mitigate Radon in Southwest Florida is what is called "Active Pressurization/Mechanical Ventilation". This system slightly increases the pressure inside the home which keeps Radon Gas from pushing its way in through cracks in the concrete floor of the home at an elevated rate. When windows and doors in the home are open, this system acts to ventilate the home.
A secondary benefit of this system is that by bringing fresh air into the home, it improves the indoor air quality.
